# Getting BNB

### How to Buy BNB via a CEX

BNB is the native token of the Binance Chain and Binance Smart Chain, it's used as gas to cover blockchain transaction fees & used as collateral in the DCNTRL Protocol. Here's how you can buy BNB:

1. Register and log in to your account on Binance or any other exchange that supports BNB.
2. Navigate to the spot trading section and select BNB from the list of available assets.
3. Choose your preferred trading pair (e.g., BNB/USDT, BNB/BTC) and enter the amount you wish to purchase.
4. Confirm the transaction details and execute the trade.

Once the transaction is confirmed, you'll see the purchased BNB in your exchange wallet.
